Heather Collins (a former Maven) has graciously allowed us to keep this on the blog, which is great because it really is the best demo of CRAW out there.
Whenever I get a request for CRAW tutorials I always tell people to be sure to check out Heather's store as she has some great CRAW tuts.
If you want to see for yourself here's a handy link....
Watch as I show you how easy Cubic Right Angle Weave is!! I enjoyed making this visual tutorial to share with you and I am going to set about making the next one soon.....how to start a ladder row the easy way. In the meantime, have a look see and practice this wonderful stitch.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Great tutorial, easy to follow, perfect!
ReplyDeleteI've just watched it, it's FANTASTIC!!! I thought cubic raw was very difficult because I found only written pattern (and I didn't understand them), and one video so confused that I was despondent. Now, I want to try it as soon as possible, thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this! I've only found written instructions and they're much more confusing than seeing the stitch performed. Wonderful!!!!
ReplyDeleteVal~
I'm very very glad you. Thank you so much.
ReplyDeleteThank you--that is such a well done video! Even someone pretty new to beadweaving will be able to follow this. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this video!! I was trying to teach myself this same stitch last night using the B&B mag and I couldn't get the written directions. I watched this video once and I get it!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
ReplyDeleteFantastic tutorial!! Thanks very much!
ReplyDeleteThis tutorial is absolutely fabulous. It's clear and concise, easy to follow and your voice has a wonderful tone for teaching. I can't praise you enough.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing this with us.
Thank you everyone! My reward is that you are all going to be CRAWing!!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL, I love raw and craw!!! This stitch just makes sense to me, black and white, no gray areas. LOL. I like it that way!
ReplyDeleteI have a question??? Is the stitch supposed to be loose? Or does it tighten up as it lengthens??
ReplyDeleteHi Jeriluvt
ReplyDeleteIt is a supple rope but not to the point of being floppy and loose. Your tension is important but you need to practice the stitch a bit and then you can work on maintaining even tension. Winding the tail thread around the baby finger of your non-dominant hand goes a loooong way in assisting with tension control. After adding each set of beads, pull the thread firmly to set the beads in place - you will note on the video how I "wrap" the working thread around my index finger and hold it in place and out the way with my middle finger. This helps to keep the tension set.
What a WONDERFUL tutorial! It's really well done, I hope you're very happy with it. I'm off to find some beads and start my first piece of CRAW! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThank you Becs and get ready to fall in love :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic video Heather.. thank you so much. Learning new techniques is so much easier having videos like this. You've done an amazing job and I can't wait to see more videos from you!

Köszönöm ezt a fantasztikus videót!
ReplyDeleteWOW. this is great. I'm pretty confident that I can do this now. Thank you SO much!
ReplyDeleteJust came over to watch this from Nancy's post about her colorplay ropes. I have to say, that is one of the clearest, most concise video tutorials I've seen. RAW is one of my weakest techniques, so I've never even looked at doing CRAW, but you make it so easy looking, I think I'm going to have to try it now! Thanks so much! (And, of course, I love hearing your voice too!)
ReplyDeleteFantastic Tutorial Heather. Thank you very much xxx
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun stitch! Thanks so much, Heather.
