Guess Who!!!

I thought today I'd give you a chance to guess the identities of the new Mavens before I start introducing them tomorrow.....so here are some little snippets of their designs.

So there will be another $25 tutorial gift certificate to my store for the person who gets them all correct or comes the closest. In the event more than one person gets them all correct I'll do a drawing for the prize :)

I was going to announce a winner today for questions to the new Mavens but as there haven't been many I'm going to carry this forward until you have met them all....makes sense that you will want to ask them particular questions.

So keep commenting and coming up with things you'd like to know and I'll announce a winner next Saturday after you've met them all.

Pardon the pun but excitement can make me silly.

Snaps are such a great way to add a clasp that matches perfectly, they are my 'go to' and I've made them in many different designs.  I think the daisies are one of the funnest though, I hope you enjoy them.

Tick Tock!

Gosh, the countdown to being back is really on!

It's quite exciting to think we're almost there.

I have to say I'm really looking forward to introducing the first round of designers, one who was the kick I needed to bring the Mavens back.

I had been asked many times to do so but receiving an e-mail from someone who said it was her dream to be a Bead Maven really got to me.  I like the idea of fulfilling someone's dreams and I was thrilled to find out that this designer was exactly what I had in mind if I did bring the Mavens back.

She's first up on the introduction list and you'll get to meet her on Sunday, she's very nervous...lol! I keep telling her she will get a warm welcome so I hope you all prove me right :)

Watch this space on Thursday as I'll be posting a free tutorial.

If you know my work you know I like to create my own clasps using snaps and I'll be sharing one of my snap designs, Daisy Snaps.

I'm also making it easier for you to find the free tutorials, all tutorials are now tagged as such so you just have to look on the left side bar and click on tutorials to get to them all.  I'll also be adding links so you can easily download them.

All I ask is that you credit the designer if you create from the tutorials and don't teach from them....most designers also teach so you're taking away their income when you teach their designs.

Getting Ready

It's pretty quiet out front but behind the scenes the excitement is building and I have six wonderful designers nervous to get started.

As you can see we have a new logo and also a new item on the left, Maven Mentions.  This is where we will share links to places we like and products we love.....just so you don't have to go looking all over the web.

I'm hoping to share a little with you each day from now till I get to introduce the 2013 designers.

I've been pretty busy myself with a hefty four tutorials in progress trying to release in time for Christmas in July.....not sure I'll make it....but August is good too, right?

These are three of the tutorials keeping me busy.

I'm also finishing up a project inspired by Kate McKinnon's book "Contemporary Geometric Beadwork".  

I have been very inspired by the techniques Kate has shared in this book and it will definitely be influencing my future beadwork....absolutely worth the Maven Mention!
